After almost a full day up in the trees, Tanglestar watched the river water decreased slowly. He leaped from the tree branch he was resting on. The ground was soaking wet and puddles laid everywhere, where the clearing used to be.
"Everyone can come down now," He meowed and searched the dens. The water had wrecked the dens, the nursery brambles had washed away, along with the protective barrier. Tanglestar shook his head.
"This will take a lot of cleaning up," He meowed.
"Why don't we just leave?" Adderstrike yowled as he shook his wet paws.
"We can't leave, this is our home!" Sleetpaw protested. Sweetpaw agreed. "Besides, Mistypaw and Shadowpaw are missing!"
"Enough!" Tanglestar growled. "We are not leaving."
"Tanglestar! You're going to want to look at this!" Tanglestar heard Owlsight's meow. He made his way to where his deputy was standing, he seemed to be standing over dark tabby fur.
"Oh no," Tanglestar meowed when he figured out who the limp body was.
Brokenfeather.
"What will we do without a medicine cat?!" Copperflame meowed as she peered over Tanglestar to see the medicine cat.
"We have one," Blackfeather meowed and looked at Moonpaw.
Moonpaw gulped as eyes focused on her. Was she really ready to take on the role of her mentor?
Tanglestar looked at his clanmates. "We won't sit vigil for our lost clanmates because it's wet and we need to repair our clan. We also need to find Snowfall's body-"
"And Mistypaw!" Sleetpaw added, his eyes were sad. His mother was dead and his sister was missing. What more could go wrong?

Smallcloud turned to Crescentmoon. "Should we help find Mistypaw, or help recover dens?" she asked.

Moonpaw walked into the medicine cat's den. All the herbs had been ruined or swept away. She would have to get all new ones without Brokenfeather's help. She walked back out. "I need to go into the forest and find herbs." she told Tanglestar. "If any unjured cats come they should wait in the medicine den."

Viperpaw looked around the camp and gulped down her sadness. She padded to Moonpaw. "You can do it, You know each and every herb, and you've healed every cat in the clan with Brokenfeather at least once." She smiled.
ReplyDeleteFrostpaw was immediantly at Sleetpaw's side, her gaze determined to find her friend. "If mistypaw's out there, we'll find her!"
Emeraldeyes was helping with the dens, weaving the twigs into the breaking walls.
*stares at the devestated camp* hey Moonpaw i no some herbs want me to help you find some im sure there are plenty out there

Owltalon began searching nearby for new brambles and taking them to the dens.

Nightclaw was still climbing in the trees. She jumped on one and the branch broke. She held her breath expecting to hit water but fell to the ground. She realized she had gone a long way from camp. *I hope i didn't wander into someone else's territory.* She began walking back, checking bushes for Mistypaw and Shadowpaw and occastionaly calling their names.

Spottedkit looked at owltalon."Can i help?"she asked trying to make herself usful
ReplyDelete"Mistypaw is either dead or she's gone with that traitor," Blazepaw meowed.
ReplyDelete"Blazepaw don't say that!" Sweetpaw gasped. "She was our denmate, we were friends with her and Sleetpaw since they were just opening their eyes!"
"Well things change, she's a traitor and all traitors should be banished!" Blazepaw meowed.
Sleetpaw's hackles raised.

"Sure" Owltalon said. He gave Spottedkit some of the bramble he was holding, making sure it was small enough for her.

ReplyDeleteCopperflame pressed against Owlsight and tried to guess how many kits she was expecting. She expected 3 or 4. he hoped down and started to help remake the nursery. Suddenly her stomach rumbles loudly. She cocked her head in emmbaressment and said " Guess I'm hungry. I'm going to see if I can catch anything."

Tanglestar bounded over to Moonpaw. "You will be okay.. without Brokenfeather, right?"

Frostpaw smiled inocently. "Anytime." She grinned.
ReplyDeleteFernglade sprang through the trees, eventually looking down, and dropping to the ground, sighing with relief. "Thank starclan. I don't think I could have done that any longer." She sniffed the ground and started on the way to camp.
Brackenfall sat next to Owltalon, weaving in some leaves to cover the holes.

"Where would we go if we left?" Nightclaw asked Adderstrike. "Even if we leave we'll have to start all over and build a new camp anyway. Mistypaw is still missing, we should stay here."

Moonpaw walked back into the clearing and entered the Medicine cat den. She was carrying as many herbs as she could. She flinched when she got in, the place still smelled like Brokenfeather. *I may yet see him in Starclan.* she told herself and began sorting.

ReplyDeleteHiddenpaw shuffled her paws nervously at Blazepaws words. She knew that she liked him. But what would he think of her if she had originally become part of this clan to destroy it. She needed to let it all out. She raced out of camp, accidentally bumping into him. She started at him for a brief moment, her brown eyes looking scared, then sped off, knocking water off of leaves.
Owlsight purred at his mate and licked her cheek."Go ahead. I'll work on it." He smiled, taking her place at the nursery.
Songstream padded up shyly to Tanglestar."Um, Tanglestar?" She asked slowly."I hate to be a bother right now, but I was wondering if you could pull a thorn out of my pad."
Tanglestar looked at Songstream, bewildered. "Songstream, I'm not medicine cat. Shouldn't you go find Moonpaw?" Which reminds me... she needs her full medicine cat name, Brokenfeather died before she could recieve it..

Moonpaw walked out of the medicine cat den, she knew if the clan DID leave she would need to get traveling herbs. *Not that it matters, if my siblings stay here I know I will, even if I shouldn't.* She made a note to tell Nightclaw to go with the clan's desition. Her mind was so far away she bumped into Songstream. "Songstream," she said, "What is it?"
ReplyDeleteCopperflame nodded ans walked into the woods. She came back soon with a pathitic wet squirrel. She heard the argument between the two cats and aagreed "I think we should find a new place to live, who knows how long it will take for the pray to come back if it does at all!"

Nightclaw sighed and let her voice go back down. "Copperflame I haven't lived here long, but I have been in that forest. It could take a long time to find a new place. Maybe even as long as it'll take the prey to return. I'll go if that's what everyone wants, but it doesn't seem like a good idea."

"Yes." he said, squeezing moss in his teeth. "Help me dry off this moss, I'm making nests." She sat down with him and started to squeeze out moss.
Owlsight sighed."I don't know. It will be very hard to find a new territory." He stepped in next to Copperflame.

Hiddenpaw continued to blaze through the forest at unmatched speeds. She plunged into an overflowing river without thinking, then pulled herself out and kept going. She leaped into the trees and to through them, continuing on until she started panting. She then stopped when she reached the border, sitting down. She didn't want to talk to herself, so she vented her feelings a different way. She cried.
Moonpaw nodded and pulled the thorn out. "I have something for that in the den." she raced back in and brought out a herb. After putting some on Songstream's pad she turned to Tanglestar. "In case we ARE leaving I should find some traveling herbs. It could take a while." She walked back into the forest and began looking.
ReplyDeleteA bush rustled nearby and she thought she smelled cat in it. "Mistypaw?" she asked, knowing she shouldn't get her hopes up. When no one anserewed she looked in the bush. She felt something hit her head and fell into darkness. (She's just unconcuios.)
"Good idea," Tanglestar muttered and looked around his clanmates. He let out a sharp yowl. "Should we leave EmberClan or stay in our territory?"

Nightclaw sighed, she hadn't really thought about it. "We just got here, but it's our home now. To find someplace new we'd have to leave the forest and that could be dangerous."she was whispering it so the other cats wouldn't hear.
Copperflame licked his cheek " But we could leave the forest maney find a salty lake ( ocean or sea) and live there" She looked at Owlsight for backup." I vote leave"

ReplyDeleteMoonpaw got up shakily. *What happened* she wondered. She looked up and saw the sun was setting. *Yikes! I've been gone a long time and barley have any herbs!* she quickly grabbed more and headed back toward camp.
ReplyDeleteMoonpaw came back into camp, she didn't feel very tiered even though it was night. She came up to Tanglestar and dropped the herbs near him. "Have the cats decided what we'll do yet?" she asked.

ReplyDeleteI'm sorry Nightclaw! I have never been so busy in my entire life! Intire...entire... I don't know how to spell it... ANYWAYS! I actually had to quit blogger for a month because...well, I almost got expelled in school for being behind in school and missing some classes because I was sick..but that's not the point. The point is that I think my mother is disconnecting the internet so I don't think I'll even be able to go on, also EmberClan has basically died...
